Dr. Leslie Mesen is a leader in the field of Anti-Aging Medicine in Latin America. Like so many in his profession, he grew up as the son of medical professionals. His father a medical doctor and his mother a medical professional and PhD. Literally from day one, Dr. Mesen saw both the good and the bad of modern medicine. Dr. Mesen led a normal childhood, but always was intrigued by why people grow old. He often reflects asking why do people get old? How does the aging process work? These questions, as with many, remained in the back of his mind through life, medical school, to where he is today, concentrating his practice in the field of Anti-Aging Medicine.
Dr. Mesen practices Anti-Aging Medicine in a unique way. He does not talk down to his patients and takes the time to listen to their needs in order to thoroughly understand their specific situation.
A first consultation with Dr. Mesen is uncommon to many foreigners or newcomers to anti-aging. Patients who have lived their whole lives within the experience of the typical medical establishment in the United States and Canada are surprised at the individualized attention and care they receive from Dr. Mesen. Many, who are used to revolving-door medicine practices, find Dr. Mesen’s approach refreshing and feel that finally someone is listening to them and not rushing them out the door to get to the next patient.
Dr. Mesen is thorough. Almost all his patients receive a thorough blood panel with more tests performed than most have received in their lifetime. Then, he listens, asks questions, and works with each patient’s needs and works on a solution to improve their quality of life.
Dr. Mesen received his medical training in Costa Rica at Universidad de Iberoamerica (UNIBE), one of Costa Rica’s leading universities specializing in the health sciences. He did his Emergency Room Fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, and is perfectly fluent in English and Spanish. He receives continuing education courses in the United States and Latin America. Dr. Mesen is board certified in Anti-Aging Medicine by The American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, established in 1992, and representing 26,000 physicians and scientists worldwide.
Note: At the Anti-Aging Institute of the Americas, where Dr. Mesen remains a major shareholder, he is responsible for teaching, directing and mentoring Dr. Lizano, who served under Dr. Mesen for approximately 1 year learning anti-aging medicine.
And presently in his most ambitious effort, establishing the Anti Aging and Wellness Clinic in a new state of the art clinic located in the trendy, upscale suburb of Escazu, in Costa Rica’s largest city – San Jose. The newly constructed clinic is by far Dr. Mesen’s most bold statement to date, providing more room for research and more space to expand his offerings at helping all of us to live younger, longer.
Mr. Richie is a 26 year veteran of international business, serving as a senior telecom executive in the wireless cellular telephone industry. His career began back in the late 1980‘s with a small wireless startup in Chicago. He helped drive growth of the division from only three engineers to a global leader in test and measurement systems for the telecom industry. The group was eventually acquired by Agilent Technologies for a large undisclosed sum. Agilent is one of the largest medical equipment manufacturers globally.
In the mid 1990s, Mr. Richie became President, and later CEO of X-TEL Communications, Inc. Again, taking the business from a startup to a multinational leader in telecom test and measurement equipment for the wireless industry.
At age 51, he now seeks to do the same in Anti-Aging Medicine and hopes to do what he can to bring the benefits of Age Management medicine to a larger group of aging baby-boomers looking to live younger longer. In doing so, he hopes to make his mark by promoting the Anti-Age lifestyle, ultimately leading to a healthier and more prosperous world.
So, what’s a telecom guy doing in Anti-Aging Medicine?
Well, like so many, Mr. Richie had to deal with the tragic event of his father suffering a near fatal heart attack on a cardiac treadmill test in 1989. The event occurred in a medical hospital, while under the supervision of a cardiologist. Fortunately his father survived, but it was not due to conventional medical recommendations at the time. From that point on, Mr. Richie used his common sense, research skills and engineering background to seek out doctors and medical experts for alternative care. In doing so, it opened his eyes to the inability of the medical profession to always function in the best interests of the individual patient. Like many professions, practitioners often become slaves to the self-interests of the overall system for the benefit of the system, whether or not it meets the needs of the individual patient.
Since the late 1980s, Mr. Richie has studied and practiced anti-aging for himself and his family. He is a believer having experienced the benefits of age management personally. He has sought the advice and counsel of countless doctors globally. He doesn’t settle for the status quo, and he does not expect anyone else should either. He, like you, had a decision to make. Accept a future of degenerative disease or think differently and make the proper changes. He read, educated himself, and now lives at age 51 as if he is in his 30s. He is testimony to the Age Management lifestyle. By following a disciplined approach to anti-aging, which in Mr. Richie’s case includes a predominently raw vegen diet, moderate amount of exercise, 7-8 hours of sleep per night, and BHRT, he’s been able to slow the clock of aging better than most his age.

Mr. Richie divides his time between the United States and Costa Rica and invests in areas of interest to him where he feels he can make a positive difference in the lives of others. Anti-Aging is one area he desires to give back by generating more interest and awareness to the advantages of anti-aging medicine.
